Watching DVD’s on the move has never been a problem for me in the past, my laptop with a nearby power socket has usually done the trick when necessary. But now I have 2 young boys who are apporaching the age where sitting in a car for an hour or longer becomes a bit of a stressful situation a portable DVD player would definately come in handy.

Why not the laptop?
Well the battery life of my laptop is no match for most portable dvd players and that compared to its size and weight also makes it a bit difficult for my son to use. That and i’m a bit partial to keeping it working.

So should I go for an in car only system, one that can work in and out of the car but can still fit discreetly in the car or a laptop style design? Watch this space for some reviews.

Looking at getting a Personal Loan to increase the amount of gadgets I can get my hands on isn’t a new concept. It seems like the only way possible at some times and often makes more sense to me than at other times. I have had a few personal loans in my time and I have ever only invested in gadgetry from one of them, I bought a Sony Camcorder worth about £900 ($1800) at the time. It is still one of the most expensive gadgets I own. As you can tell from some of the most recent posts, the dream of getting my hands on some of the gadgets like the Optimus Maximus keyboard or the RC Camera Car will only come true with either a lottery win or more realistically a loan or Cash Advance.

Would this be beneficial? For the site, sure? For me, Yeah. For my wallet, afraid not. So here’s thinking of other ways that I can increase revenue to supplement buying new gadgets to review and get hands on with. Having said that telling a loan company I wanted to borrow money to buy gadgets might not be received so well without a great plan to turn them into some sort of return on investment.

This weeks “Gadget of the Week” is a remote control car with a difference. This remote control car comes with the usual, car and remote control but the car has been added with a VGA camera and with that comes a video headset. Stick the headset on and get the real life view of what driving this RC car would really be like.

You can use this to drive around corners, drive through different rooms and out of sight all while keeping full control of the car and experiencing an awesome view from the cockpit. The car is actually called the VTS camera car, VTS standing for Vision Tracking System and opens up numerous possibilities for filming from the in-car view. Imagine racing a friend or work mate in two of these, in either a straight drag race, across an off road course (jumps included of course) or around the office. Ideal for navigating your way through the cubical system to drop off those reports on your managers desk.

I’m not sure that this would make a stealthy spy gadget but I am sure that you can have a lot of fun with it. At around £600 ($1200) this is another expensive gadget, I’m sure that other manufacturers will take on board the idea and we will start to see the visor/camera combo in future RC cars.

I’ve often wondered when watching a TV show covering a conference like E3 or another Techie trade show, how people get their hands on the high tech, high quality trade show displays. My mind always rested on the fact that if the companies could create a great product, some thing new and innovative, some thing designer and stylish then coming up with these displays would be part and parcel of the business. That as it turns out may not be true as I have just checked out the web site for the godfreygroup.com and they have some awesome displays available. These would definitely give you the edge down at your local computer fair.

I always hear about gadgets and tech from friends, on the TV, on the internet and other blogs but what I rarely find out is when I finally get some cash, where can I get these things from?
